Beads and puberty rites ceremony (Dipo)
Beads play a significant role in Ghanaian
culture , one is the puberty rites ceremony (Dipo) . Dipo is a ceremony
that initiates adolescent girls to womanhood.During this ceremony the
adolescent girls wear handmade beads that have been passed on from
generation to generation. Dipo festival is celebrated by Krobo people
in the Eastern region of Ghana .
